About McLaren Studios

Rhiannon Bankston-Thomas

Rhiannon co-founded FXpansion in 2002 and spent fourteen years helping build it into one of the better-known names in music software, through to its acquisition. She went on to lead commercial operations at ROLI, before joining inMusic, where she led business development and managed audio plugin development for third-party clients.

At McLaren Studios, she brings that experience to consulting, operations and digital production, working with businesses on everything from commercial strategy and day-to-day operations to polished, publication-ready reports and documents. She also works as fractional COO at music technology company The Audio Programmer.

Jamie McLaren

Jamie builds and ships mobile apps, working natively in Swift and SwiftUI and cross-platform in Flutter. He takes projects through the full development lifecycle – from concept and system design through interface development, data handling and subscriptions to testing and live release.

His recent work includes Contact Care and StatStrike, a subscription football analytics app built around its own analysis engine and cloud database.

Jamie came to software development from a creative background spanning theatre, fiction and political satire. He particularly enjoys taking early ideas and turning them into well-designed, working products.
